Terms of Service
These are plain-language template terms for the managed hosting service. They are not a substitute for legal advice. Have counsel review them for your jurisdiction (including [Operator province/country — fill before publish]) before relying on them for commercial billing.
1. What you are paying for
The subscription fee is for the managed CueSport Scoreboard Cloud hosting service operated at https://cuesport.macleod.systems. As available, that service includes hosted relay and account features (dashboard, WebSocket cloud relay, mobile/guest control paths, match history stored on the operator’s servers, and stream listing when you opt in), Google sign-in via the operator’s configured auth providers, and plan quotas (for example OBS Dock Keys / connections) for your chosen tier. The operator uses commercially reasonable efforts to keep the service running and to apply updates the operator chooses to ship.
The fee is not for ownership of the GPL software, a support contract, a guaranteed uptime/SLA, custom development, or liability for your OBS setup, stream, or content.
2. Software license vs hosted service
The CueSport Scoreboard software remains available under the GNU GPL for self-hosting. Self-hosters are not managed-service customers under these Terms unless they also use this hosted product. Paying for managed hosting does not transfer ownership of the software.
3. Use of AI in creating the product
We are transparent that artificial intelligence (AI) coding assistants and related tools were used to help design, write, and maintain parts of this software and the managed hosting service (for example code, documentation, and these legal templates). A human operator directs that work, reviews changes before they are shipped, and remains responsible for the service offered to you.
That development practice does not mean the managed service itself is an “AI product,” that outputs are guaranteed error-free, or that your customer data is sent to AI providers as part of normal hosted operation. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and which service providers process data when you use the hosted service.
4. Accounts and acceptable use
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You may not abuse the service, interfere with other users, attempt unauthorized access, or use the service for unlawful content or activity. The operator may suspend or terminate access for abuse, non-payment, or material breach.
5. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Self-serve tiers may include a card-required free trial (for example 30 days) as shown at checkout. After a trial, billing continues unless you cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal. Taxes may apply. Plan changes and cancellation are handled in the Customer Portal where available.
6. Operator access to hosted data
Because this is a hosted service, the operator may access customer data on the managed systems for operations, security, abuse prevention, billing, and legal compliance. See the Privacy Policy for more detail. Public stream listings only include what you choose to publish.
7. Feedback
There is no paid support SLA under these Terms. You may report feedback and bugs via GitHub Issues. Billing or privacy requests: Not configured — set LEGAL_CONTACT_EMAIL.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The managed service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator disclaims warranties of uninterrupted, error-free, or fit-for-purpose operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or data-loss damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example fraud or other non-waivable duties where they apply).
10. Changes
The operator may update these Terms or the Privacy Policy. Material changes will be noted via the site or dashboard. Continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, subject to applicable law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Operator province/country — fill before publish], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply. Venue and dispute procedures should be confirmed with counsel before production use.
